Your children will enjoy adding their own personal touch to their paper chain by decorating it for a friend, neighbor or for the Christmas tree, also makes a great birthday decoration.

Children love to see their creative work displayed.

Paper chains are easy to make and lots of fun for all children.


What you will need

Colored paper

Scissors

Paint, Glitter

Glue, paste, or stapler

What to do

toddlers activity Cut paper into one-by-four-inch strips. Decorate the strips for those special occasions adding more color with a sprinkle of glitter or bright colored paint. Once your decorated strips are dry glue or staple the ends of the first strip to make a ring.

Then thread the next strip through this ring and glue the ends together. Continue threading the strips through the previous rings until your paper chain reaches the desired length.

The magic of Painting with Water

Your children will be amazed with this magical craft activity; they will be amused for hours as their creative skills extend. Its fantastic fun! Kids love it, its like magic.

Things you need :

• Black marker

• Paper towel

• Paintbrush

• Water

Let’s get started:

* Draw a picture, shape or your child’s name with a thick black marker on a piece of paper towel.

* Give a demo to your child, on how to brush water over the black marker lines and watch how the colors come to life.

“ Tracing Favorite Toy”

What you need:

• Favorite toys, Teddy, Cars, Motorbikes, Dolls

• Drawing paper

• Markers, Pencils or paints

• Scissors

• Glue

• Scrap book

Making a Start

Have your children pick the toy they want to trace. Set up a good level area, lay paper flat, put the toy on the paper. Show your child how to trace along the out side of their toy with a marker. You may want to hold the toy steady while your child traces the toy.

Paint or color in the toy tracing. When painting is dry add glue and paste into your child’s own scrap book. They will be surprised at their own skill as they improve. Put the date and your child’s age on the page, they can then see how they have improved.

Foot and Hand Tracing

What you need

• Drawing paper

• Crayons, markers, or paints

What to do

Place paper on the floor. Have your child standing still on the piece of paper while you trace around her feet with a pen or crayon.

Then have your child trace around your feet and compare sizes.

Color the feet with crayons, markers, or paints. Draw toe nails, add different colored nail polish.

Do the same when tracing hands.

Once your tracings are dry hang them up, your child will often compare the difference in size and shape.
