“ Fun Backyard Water Activities”

Come summer and everybody is looking for ways to cool off. Most
tend to head out for the beach and stay put there as much as
possible. But while going to the beach is fun for some it can
be a difficult proposition.
There are those who stay in the
interiors of the country who will not have easy access to the
beaches. They can then plan trips to the swimming pool or
better still, go to the best place of all - your own backyard.
It’s amazing how many people choose to spend their summers in
their own backyard doing things with the family without the
hassles of traffic and crowded places and tempers raging
because you are just hot and uncomfortable. Who needs that? No
one for sure.
Many people have swimming pools inside or outside their homes
but this is not possible for all as most pools don’t come
cheap. Some alternatives come in the shape of kiddies’
inflatable pools or above ground small pools which can be found
at an affordable price.
But again pools may be not be everyone’s
choice of activity and for them there are some other things like
maybe water gun fights which are age proof. Anyone who is ready
for some fun and some cooling off qualifies. Water guns are not
expensive and they are available at your nearest retail store.
Water balloons are another option and these are really cheap.
They are freely available and can be enjoyed by all ages. This
is good family time spent together and so very cooling too.
Though it may seem strange, water sprinklers are another way of
cooling off. Sit back in your lounge chair with a good book and
turn on the sprinkler, there will never be a cooler person.
It’s more civilized, does not cost a penny extra and can be
enjoyed by everyone on hot sunny days. Most people cannot
handle competitive and interactive water games and for them
this is a perfectly cool alternative.
For all the above
mentioned games one needs only a good garden hose so no one has
to go in to the house for water with messy toys which
effectively keeps the house clean and dry and keeps the lady of
the house free from worries.
One only needs a bit of imagination and some creative thinking
to find ways and means of keeping cool in the hot summer months
and of course there’s always the garden hose with running water.
A small kiddy pool for the tiny tots, loungers for the older
generation and water guns and balloons for the younger lot and
voila! You are all set for some fun in the sun. Can there be a
better way to spend some cool quality time with family and
friends?

Outdoor water toys hold a special place in my heart. I have many fond memories of growing up under the hot California summer sun with great water toys. My arsenal included everything from massive water grenades to Super Soakers to Slip n Slides. All of my school friends used to venture over to my home each and every weekend to play with all of my goodies and cool off during the hottest days during the summer. While our water bill was probably astronomical, none of us cared, as we were all having far too much fun outside.
Even though we could have trapped ourselves inside and had hours of fun playing videogames on out Nintendo, we really enjoyed heading outdoors simply so that we could play in the water. After all, what kid does not enjoy getting wet on a hot summer day? If you are tired of having your kids sit around the house all summer long when you feel that they should be outside enjoying themselves, you definitely need a wide variety of outdoor water toys to help motivate them to head outside.
A small kiddy pool is the first outdoor water toy that you should consider purchasing for your kids. Short of running through the sprinklers, this is the single best way to cool off on a hot day if you do not already own an inground or above ground pool. These kid pools come in a multitude of shapes and sizes and are great for all sorts of youngsters. All you have to do is inflate it, position it in your backyard and then fill it full of water to provide your kids with hours of fun.
As far as squirt guns go, you should avoid all of those realistic looking pieces that look like handguns and stick with something that has been tried and tested over the past decade or so. The Super Soaker brand of squirt gun is what you should be looking for. With their massive range of prices, you can find these guns in just about any toy store. From the weaker guns that only hold a little bit of water to much more powerful items that almost look like high tech water based flamethrowers, there are tons of these toys that are perfect for kids of all ages.
