Inspiring Quotes:

"If you are clear about what you want, the world responds with clarity."
- Loretta Staples

"If you are serious about your goals, drop the conditions. Go directly to your goal. Be your goal! Conditions often disguise strategies for escaping accountability. Why not just take charge and create the experience you are looking for?"
- Eric Allenbaugh

"It is good to dream, but it is better to dream and work. Faith is mighty, but action with faith is mightier. Desiring is helpful, but work and desire are invincible."
- Thomas Robert Gaines

Kids Activities:

FreeToddlersActivity&DisciplineGuide

Not only do kids of all ages love to play games, games are a creative and inexpensive way to entertain children. With a little imagination you will soon have them making up their own games!

Whether you're looking for birthday party games or just something to keep the little ones busy for a little while, I think you'll find these games easy to learn and fun for all ages.

SLEEPING LIONS

One player is chosen to be "it". All other players lie down and become sleeping lions.

They lie flat on their backs, keeping as still and quiet as possible. The "it" person has to try to make them laugh by making funny faces but not actually touching them. Anyone who giggles is out. The last lion is the winner.

Variations: Sleeping Clowns, Sleeping Astronauts, Sleeping Pirates, Sleeping Cowboys, etc.

HA!HA!HA!

The object of this game is to keep a straight face while the other players try to make you laugh. Everyone sits in a circle.

One child says, "Ha!" The next child adds a second "Ha!" by saying "Ha!Ha!". The third child adds another "Ha!" saying, "Ha!Ha!Ha!"...and so on.

Any player who laughs or makes a mistake must drop out of the circle. However, those "drop-outs" can also try to make the others laugh (except by touching them or talking).

The player who keeps a straight face the longest is the winner.

Variation: Have each child lie down, resting his or her head on the stomach of the next child. The last child to laugh is the winner.

Memory Master

This is where you place a number of household objects on a tray and let the participants look at them for 30 seconds.

Cover the tray with a cloth and then get them to try and remember as many objects as possible.

Seashell Soap Dish

Supplies: Large seashell or clam shell, three or four smaller shells, all about same size and glue.

Directions:
The shiny inside "bowl" of the clam shell or large seashell will become your soap dish. The three or four smaller shells should be glued on the outside, to act as legs and prevent the dish from overturning. Experiment with the position of the shells until you have an arrangement that will balance your soap dish securely then glue the smaller seashells in place. Allow glue to dry completely before using.

Seashell Wind Chimes

Supplies: Assorted seashells, twine, craft glue, twigs or craft sticks.

Directions: Arrange the sticks in a cross shape, and wind a small amount of twine around the center of the sticks to secure them together. Leave a circle of twine at the top to serve as a hanger.
Tie a length of twine to each end of the crossed sticks. Cut each piece of twine to the same length and glue a seashell to the end. Tie four more pieces of twine between the end of each stick and the center of the wind chime. Make these four strings about the same length as well.
Finally, add one more piece of twine from the center of the crossed sticks. The length of this piece can be shorter or longer than the rest. Add a large, pretty seashell to this string. Let the glue dry, then hang your wind chime where the seashells will

Eight Simple Stressbusters for Moms

Among our most critical responsibilities as mothers is the responsibility to the self -- the responsibility to recharge our resources so that we feel balanced, energized and able to thrive under life's demands (and to model this healthy approach to stress for our children).

Choose a life of less stress by identifying your stress points. You can start by answering the following eight questions in your personal journal:

1. Whether you're a WAHM, a SAHM, or a mom who works outside the home, why did you make that lifestyle choice? Write down all the reasons, both personal and professional.

Such a list is an excellent tool for positive affirmation, particularly on those days when the sacrifices you've made stare you squarely in the face. If you discover that the choice you've made isn't the right one, outline the changes you need to make.

2. What are your priorities? How important is your spirituality, your family, your professional identity? Consider this ranking when you're called to make choices and compromises.

When have you put your identity, your plans, and your self-nurturing on hold while you took care of someone else?

3. If you had 15 to 30 minutes each day for yourself, how would you spend it? Schedule time for yourself. Mark it in your day planner or on the family calendar.

4. How much of your stress level is the effect of over-dramatization? Remind yourself that the level of stress you experience is directly related to the way you internalize it and the importance you place on your own dramatization.

5. Do nutrition and exercise contribute to your stress or help you manage it? If you aren't sure, keep an energy diary to help you determine the hidden factors in your lifestyle that may be robbing you of energy. Make a plan to change or eliminate those influences.

Log the times each day when you feel beat or burned out. For me, it's 3 pm -- about the time I want to hit the cookie jar. Try to schedule your workout (not a great big snack) for the time of day when you need an energy boost.

6. How easy is it for you to say "no"? Respect yourself and your time enough to delegate tasks and refuse to take on more than you can handle.

7. Are you multi-tasking yourself into more stress? When we try to do too much at once, we are raising, not lowering, our stress level. Multi-task only when you can realistically fulfill all tasks adequately. It's hard to tune into your kids while you catch up on your own reading, for example, and you can't take time out for yourself while simultaneously devoting the time to anyone else. Decide which tasks deserve your full attention. Then give it.

8. Do you have the support network you need? Conduct a search at http://groups.yahoo.com or http://www.topica.com for an online group that shares your hobbies, interests, or lifestyle.

Dinner Party

Start a new tradition of hosting a dinner party every other month or two and inviting several of you and your mate’s friends. Set up board games that everyone will enjoy, have some light and lively music playing, and plan to have a blast.

Spending time with friends in this kind of setting is a great way to reduce stress. When stress is low, couples get along better. This is a wonderful way to interact with each other’s friends as a couple.

Happy Birthday

As people grow older, in general, birthdays become less celebrated. Gifts are quickly given, meals eaten, and it is over.

For your mate’s next birthday, take some time to plan something very special. Make this a true celebration of their life as a way of showing your love and appreciation.

Every person, even adults, like attention and love to be appreciated. Whether a surprise party or not, your mate will be impressed that you went to all the effort just for them.

Well, this has got to be the simplest, and most effective, formula for personal goal setting success ever.

You need no other formula or strategy, ever.

In order to achieve any and every goal, you simply need to answer these 3 questions.

"In order to achieve my goal....

1. What do I need to STOP doing?

2. What do I need to START doing?

3. What do I need to DO MORE OF?"

THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO THIS FORMULA FOR SUCCESSFUL GOALSETTING...

But if you DO want more suggestions and tips for goalsetting, go to:
