don't have an hourglass figure. I have an hour and a half. I have a little too much time on my ass. Wendy Liebman

Life is something to do when you can't get to sleep. Fran Lebowitz

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, - and I'm not sure about the former. Albert Einstein

Kids Activities:

FreeToddlersActivity&DisciplineGuide Not only do kids of all ages love to play games, games are a creative and inexpensive way to entertain children. With a little imagination you will soon have them making up their own games!

Whether you're looking for birthday party games or just something to keep the little ones busy for a little while, I think you'll find these games easy to learn and fun for all ages.

Board games

Clare Walters

Games in which your child has to take turn teach useful skills, including counting, matching objects, spotting details, sharing - and how to be a good loser. There are many games you can buy or borrow, but you can also make your own.

Fun and games Run, rabbit, run! - for younger children, make your own race game by drawing a wide wriggly path on card and dividing it into 50 blocks - like the layout of a snakes and ladders game.

Draw two rabbits and a cross fox at the start square and a rabbit hole on the square just before the finish. Then add 'help' features to some blocks (eg "short cut", "move on two") and 'hindrance' features to others (eg "dead end", "miss a go"). Find two counters, roll the dice and get racing!

Take turns to roll the dice Beetle - an old favourite. Give each player a piece of paper and a pencil. Allocate the different parts of the beetle to different numbers on the dice (eg 1 = body; 2 = head; 3 = tail; 4 = one eye; 5 = one feeler; and 6 = one leg). Take turns to roll the dice and gradually build your beetle (you must start with the body). First to finish is the winner.

Lotto - cut 12 pairs of identical pictures from magazines. Stick one set on to two boards (six pictures on each) and the other on individual cards. Take a board each and lay the cards face down. Then take turns to pick up a card. If it matches a picture on your board, place it on top. The first person to complete their board is the winner.

Pairs - again, cut pairs of pictures from magazines (as many as you like, but no fewer than ten). Stick them on to individual pieces of card and lay them face down on the table. Then take turns to turn over two cards at a time. If they match, keep them; if they don't, turn them face down again. The person with the most pairs is the winner. (The same cards can also be used for snap.)

Don't forget classic games such as snakes and ladders, ludo, Chinese chequers, chess and draughts.

WET CHALK DRAWING

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Colored Chalk Sticks

• Water

• Paper ( if you want a different effect – you could buy some black paper, its terrific)

WHAT TO DO:

You can get your child to take part in preparing the toddlers activity, have your children help place the sticks of colored chalk into the water to soak.

Have the toddler’s activity colored chalk soak for about 10 minutes. Let your children know, not to press to firm while drawing as the toddlers activity chalk will be soft and will break easily.

Drawing on black paper with toddlers activity wet chalk is an amazing effect, and it’s just as interesting with using white paper.

Enjoy this fun toddler’s activity craft, with your own art.

9 Tips To Easier Single Parenting

The reality is being a single mom or dad is a tough job. Trying to juggle the roles of two parents each day can be exhausting, frustrating and overwhelming.

Getting organized is one way to minimize the amount of work and run a more streamlined, calmer household. Try some of the tips listed below and before you know it you will be less stressed, more focused and able to spend more quality time with your kids!

• Time your phone calls. How many times have you spent hours chatting on the phone, only to hang up and realize that you don't have time to do what you wanted to do? Set a timer by the phone. When it rings, politely tell the caller that you must hang up. You feel more in control and have more time to accomplish your goals.

• Clean out your kids' book bags once a week. Take school notices and put them in a folder. At that moment go through the folder and throw out anything that does not need to be answered. Take action on all the other letters and write those checks to the PTA and book club now before you forget!

• Set your kids' clothes out every night for school the next day.If you have very young children you can save time by dressing them in their school clothes after the evening bath and letting them sleep in them. The clothes will be clean, although maybe a little wrinkled, and you can head out the door that much faster.

• Review your schedule every morning and evening. Make modifications for things that may come up unexpectedly.

• Schedule a specific time to answer your email.

• Clean your house and do laundry every day, instead of once a week. It is much easier to throw a load of laundry in while watching TV in the evening than to be overwhelmed with tons of it on the weekend. Assign a cleaning task each day, such as: Monday, bathrooms, Tuesday, vacuum, Thursday, kitchen, etc. By breaking down the big tasks you will be less overwhelmed and your house will be a lot cleaner!

Give those kids some chores! Even a young child can help fold laundry and clear the dinner dishes from the table. Have your family help out; after all they live there too!

• Be ruthless with your time! Try scheduling one hour a day for focus time: your time to decide on what is important to you.

• And remember to reward yourself. It can be anything, big or small, that refreshes you and that you enjoy.

Modern version - Birds and the Bees A little boy goes to his father and asks "Daddy, how was I born?"

The father answers: "Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!"

You're Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then Iset up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.

We sneaked into a secluded room, I upgraded my floppy to a stiffy and then your Mom agreed to do a download from my hard drive.

As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had useda firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a blessed little Pop-up appeared and said:

"You've Got Male"
