Rules

This game is also known as Den to den, Top and bottom or Running across.

The aim of this game is to cross from one place to another without being caught. One person is IT and stands in the middle of the space between two walls or bases. Everyone else lines up along one base or wall.

When IT gives the signal, the other players have to try and run across the space to the other base. If they are touched by IT then they must go into the middle and try to touch or tig the other players.

If they reach the other base or wall, they can wait while they count to 10 and then have to run back to the first base or wall and so on until everyone has been caught.

• Once you have started running from one side to another you must keep going, you can not turn back.

• You must not wait at any base for longer than it takes you to count to 10.

• If you turn back or wait too long then you must join IT in the middle.

• The last one to be caught is the winner.

What you need

An open space to cross from one place to another (such as across a playground from wall to wall)

Easy Kids Recipe:

Easter cookie recipe

If you are looking for the perfect Easter cookie recipe then you have come to the right place.

Everyone loves a good Easter cookie, here is my favorite recipe:

Ingredients

3 cups all purpose flour _

2 teaspoons baking soda _

1-1/2 teaspoons ground ginger _

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon _

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves _

1/4 teaspoon salt _

1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening _

1/2 cup sugar _1 egg _

1/2 cup molasses _

1-1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar

Step 1
Sift together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt onto waxed paper.

Step 2
Beat together the shortening, sugar and egg in large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy, for about 3 minutes. Beat in the molasses and cider vinegar. Stir in flour mixture until blended and smooth. Gather dough into ball; wrap and chill for several hours.

Step 3
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half. Roll out half of the dough with lightly floured surface to generous 1/8-inch thickness. Keep remainder of dough refrigerated while working with first half.

Step 4
If you want to use a pattern for your rabbit cookies, draw an Easter bunny pattern onto a piece of stiff paper. Make sure that the bunny ears are connected to the head. Cut out this paper stencil. Then place this stencil on the cookie dough and trace it with a knife. Place approx 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking pan. Take the dough you have leftover and use it again.

Step 5
Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 5-7 minutes or until firm.

Step 6
Once the cookies have cooled you can decorate the cookies, but first you need to make the icing. You can simply choose your favorite cookie icing for these cookies. This icing can be left naturally colored or you can color it with food coloring. You can decorate the cookies with any Easter designs that you want to. Leave out for the icing to dry before you place them in containers for safe and airtight storage.

Easter cookies are a treat that everyone will be able to enjoy. You may want to make a pretty little Easter basket filled with these cookies and send it to school with your child for his or her teacher. This is a thoughtful and creative idea that is sure to make the teachers day.

Child Arts & Crafts Activities:

“Bird Feeder”

An easy craft to make, and fun to watch the birds eat!

This project is rated VERY EASY to do.

What You Need

• Slice of white bread

• Cookie cutter

• Peanut Butter

• Knife to spread peanut butter (plastic is fine!)

• Yarn

• Bird seed on a plate

How To Make It

1. Take the cookie cutter and punch a nice shape out of the white bread.

2. You can save the scraps for breadcrumbs or make ones with the center cut out.

3. Punch a hole into it for yarn to hang, thread the yarn through.

4. Let the white bread shapes sit out for a day or two so that they become firm. This will make it easier to spread the peanut butter.

5. Spread peanut butter on the bread, then turn over and push into bird seed. You can turn it over and put peanut butter and seed on the other side, too, if you wish.

Hang outside on a tree for the birds to eat.

- Stability Kids need to know there are constants in their lives. In fact, the more change a child experiences in one part of his life the more stability he generally needs in another. That's why parents REALLY matter. From a child's perspective, parents are the number one constant in his young life.

- Structure In some ways, structure is stability on a schedule. For children, the simple fact of knowing that we do everyday chores like eat dinner and ready for bedtime at the same time or in the same way each day adds to a sense of security. As a mom, you can determine the schedule that's right for your family. You don't need to be rigid with this schedule, just dependable. It is important because it shows children that their needs will be met in a constant, consistent manner day in and day out. It also shows kids that they can genuinely count on the adults who care for them.

- Mood As mentioned before, when Mom's up, everybody's feeling better. When Mom's down, the whole house is dragging. Don't believe me? Observe your own household for a week or two. Your influence as a mom is immense. By paying attention to the words you use and being mindful of your own moods, you can effectively teach your children to live out of their wills and not their emotions.

- Vision/Purpose Do you have a road map for your family? It's much easier to deal with the daily grind when you have a deeper purpose in mind. Think about what hopes, dreams and goals you have for yourself, your marriage and your children. Spend time together developing family goals. This can effectively lead into...

- Teamwork The family that knows where they are going as a cohesive, unique unit gives each of their individual members a greater stake in the outcome. Everyone learns what they bring to the team and at this point Mom becomes the family cheerleader; encouraging, supporting, and keeping the family on task, heading in the right direction.

- Integrity Kids want to believe their moms. Period. When you say what you mean and mean what you say, you wield an even greater power within your family structure. You gain respect. When you speak, family members will listen to you...deep inside, where it truly counts.

Being a mom means you are a person of great power. Never again will another human being be so attracted to your influence. Use this power wisely. Be the best mom you can be to your precious family.
