Repeating the same game again and again can make the kids to feel bore and tired. Variety of activities is needed to have a successful birthday party. Let us now find out what are these activities of the party.

It is well first to show the children the game. Then repeat it and let them do it with you. It is played this way. Start with each hand doubled into a fist. When the first squirrel speaks, the little fingers raise; when the second squirrel speaks, the fourth fingers rise; the third squirrel, the third fingers and so on until the thumbs rise when the fifth squirrel speaks.

At the word "Bang" claps your hands and on the last line quickly put them behind your back. If you're not already familiar with the words, memorize the verse and actions so that the children can follow you without hesitation. The youngsters will love this game and want to repeat it again and again.

Just before time to eat bring on paper crowns made of gay-colored construction paper, one for each child. The birthday child's can differ from the others in that it can be cut across the front to represent three candles.

While the children are trying on and admiring their crowns, cover the low table with a paper tablecloth and matching napkins. For the table centerpiece use gay balloons on sticks thrust in a vase.

toddlers activity The youngsters will adore the bright table with only their ownfriends eating with them. Children greatly prefer foods thatare familiar to them so it is foolish to spend hours preparingan elaborate meal. Meat loaf baked potato and creamed carrotsor peas are foods that will satisfy most children. And, ofcourse, the inevitable ice cream and cake will finish the meal.

After supper each guest is given one of the balloons to takehome with him along with his crown and his colored animal. Whenyou see all the happy little guests so proud of theirpossessions and hear your own child prattle about his party, you'll know that the party has been a success and well worthevery bit of effort you have put into it.

Birthday must be celebrated

The secret of entertaining small children successfully is tohave a variety of activities, none of which lasts too long.Children adore making things; kindergartners as well as olderchildren. At a recent five-year-old's birthday party thechildren made small paper baskets, which pleased them much morethan any ready-made baskets. Here is how they are made.

Bright-colored construction paper is the most attractive touse. For the basket proper the paper is cut in squares six bysix inches. Then crease the paper into sixteen small squares byfolding it in half four times. On two opposite sides slit thecorner squares to the first crease.

These corner squares arefolded over and pasted on to the two end center squares, forming the ends of the basket. The handles are also cut out ofthe same colored paper. They can be five or six inches long andabout one-half inch in width. A cut-out paper animal or fowlcan be used for decoration.

The baskets are pasted first, then the handles pasted on andthe little decorations pasted on last. Little scissors areprovided and the guests fringe the edges of the baskets. Spreadout upon a table the cut and folded paper for the baskets, handles, and decorations.

Let each child make his own choice of color for his basket, handle, and ornament, and then paste them together. This maysound difficult but it is not. The children love to make thebaskets and you'll have a big surprise at the good-lookingbaskets.

When the baskets are finished place them on the mantel wherethey can be admired and later filled with candy to be takenhome. Older children may be permitted to make the initial cutsand folds for the baskets.

Children like to do coloring, decorating as well as creatingthings by themselves. Making paper baskets not only gives funand enjoyment, also develop their creative ability.

“ Fabulous Crafts And Games For Upcoming Princess Parties”
Toddler birthday party toddlers activity

You have invited the royal guests and have planned a menu thatwould make any queen proud. The guests will be arriving soonwith great expectation of fun and all things pink! You'rehaving a Princess Party!

Here are some easy and fun ideas for games and crafts to makeyour party the best one in the kingdom.

1. Make a tiara: These days at almost any craft store you canfind precut fun foam princess tiaras and decorations for nextto nothing. Purchase some glitter glue and a few extra sparklygems and your princess and her guests will stay busy for quitesome time. Make sure they all put their name inside the crownso that after the glue and glitter glue dries, they'll knowwhich is theirs. Don't forget to take a picture with everyonewearing the crowns.

2. Musical Princess Slipper: This is a fun and easy game thattakes no prep work at all. Have the party guests and princessof honor stand in a circle. Using a nice dress shoe (or glassslipper if you happen to have one!) start with the birthdaygirl and have the girls pass the slipper around the circlewhile music plays in the background. When the music stops, theguest holding the slipper jumps out of the circle and becomesthe girl in charge of the music. Continue on until only onegirl is left and she's the princess winner.

3. Pin the crown on the frog: Another great variation of atraditional birthday party game that kids have loved for ages. You'll need a large drawing of a frog on poster board andseveral construction paper crowns with double stick tape on theback. Each party guest gets a turn at being blindfolded andtrying to stick the crown onto the top of the frog's head. Makeit even harder by making each child spin around 3 times beforeheading toward the frog. No peeking. Other variations of thisgame (depending on your artwork) are: Pin the kiss on the frog,Pin the slipper on the princess, Pin the jewel on the crown, etc. Have fun!

4. Princess treasure chests: Purchase inexpensive paper macheboxes at your local craft store. Use stickers, jewels and beadswith tacky glue and have the girls decorate their treasurechest. Include some candy or other trinkets to put inside.

5. Decorate princess crown cookie: Another favorite with younggirls...decorating cookies. Purchase an inexpensive crowncookie cutter and make 2 cookies per girl (just in case theybreak). Allow to cool before decorating. Then put out pinkfrosting, candies and other fun edible items and let the girlsfrost and decorate. Then let them eat the cookies as part oftheir snack, or wrap them in plastic wrap to take home as partof the take home gift.

6. Princess silhouettes: This is a fun "craft" for girls thatare a bit older. Using a blank wall as backdrop, tape a largepiece of butcher paper to the wall. Have each princess sit onthe throne and shine a very bright light so that it casts ashadow onto the wall and paper. But here's the fun part. Placea paper crown on her head so that it casts the obvious shadow aswell. Then with a black marker, trace around her silhouette ontothe butcher paper. Remove the butcher paper from the wall andeither leave as is or have the girls decorate the crown for adifferent effect.

Create fun at your next princess party with these games andcrafts. Make sure you have the camera handy for the whole eventto keep the memories alive too. Enjoy and happy princesspartying!
