Parenting Tip Toddler | Stress Management Tip: Learning When to Chill

Our ways of dealing with stress says a lot about ourselves and our positive parenting skills. Using stress management tips like the ones below will help you to life a healthier and happier life as a parent.

It is never too late to learn good stress management techniques, and using them to support your lifetime health and wellness strategies along with good nutrition and exercise.

Stress doesn’t just cause tension, headaches, and meltdown. It can also let your hormones go haywire in the long run. When you have bad days that come consecutively, you often think to yourself that you can’t take any more of this.

You need a form of a pick-me-up, a way to make it through the rest of the days without exploding. So, you head of to the cupboard to snack on something, anything!

If you’ve ever felt this way, then you are certainly familiar with the belief that stress can make you gain weight if you allow it to. Many people admit to overeating or to resorting to unhealthy foods in response to stress.

Sadly, women were more opt to doing it than men. A cure for this would be to find the link between stress and snacking so that you are able to break from this vicious cycle. Once you find out how you are able to fight against this biological phenomenon, you will be a calmer person in the end.

The best part about it is that you can only see that you are actually shedding off some unhealthy pounds.

The word stress gets tossed around too often nowadays. When you really think about it, that nerve-wracking feeling is actually your body’s way of maintaining the balance in the midst of extremely high pressure situations.

This is done by releasing the adrenaline hormones. The hormone’s main role as the fight-or-flight indicator gives you that extra energy that you need to get out of harm’s way.

Prehistoric man once needed it to outrun their predators. Nowadays, it is still highly useful when you are faced with situations you have to run from.

So, how can you explain the binging and overeating? First, you also need to realize that cortisol is also another stress hormone you release during high pressure situations.

This is released by your body’s adrenal glands and its main function is to make you ravenous. While this may be useful for the animals running away from their predators or running towards their prey, you simply cannot constantly respond to stress this way.

But then again, you also can’t make snacking during stress a taboo. That’s a bad idea in more ways than one. The more you restrict your calories, the more you are likely to gain weight.

Stress often tempts you to filling up yourself with comfort food. It is more like a means for survival, something totally inevitable and unavoidable. Cortisol makes your body store fat because it is nature’s way of ensuring that resources are readily available as fuel when you need to exert.

And unless you live the life of a hermit, you just can’t avoid stress. Stock up on healthy snacks and get as much sleep as possible. Beat all the damaging effects of this hormone through distraction.

Take a walk, belt out a tune, or get your hands dirty. You need to be more proactive about your health. Many claim that yoga helps.

Whatever you do, just make sure that you don’t regret the way you cope with stress in the long run.

Learning powerful stresss management techniques to relax and reduce stress in your life is crucial for maintaining a healthy body and mind. These stress management tips will help you to achieve a state of balance to live a better and happier life.
