SINGLE-PARENT SUCCESS STORIES

Over the years, I have been able to save thousands of dollars for myself and many people around me. Some are having the same financial success that I am having. Some are still waiting on the Prize Patrol and/or the Lottery.

Some of the people, that are having great financial success, are single-parents, like myself. Many have overcome some overwhelming obstacles to reach financial success. Many were surrounded by "dream-busters" (people who don't want to see you succeed). Through it all, they made it.

Toddlers activity, SINGLE Mother Success Stories, I want you to know that you can do the same. You can achieve the same successes, or better. Don't let obstacles or people in your life stop you from living your best life. Stop making excuses for why you can't do something, and start making excuses for why you CAN do everything you have ever dreamt of doing.

Here are some success stories of single-parents that rose above their obstacles to great success (the names have been changed).

Debra had two kids with an annual income of $75,000. She had her dream job, dream SUV, dream house, and her kids attended private schools. One day, unexpectedly, she arrived at work to find that her company had closed its doors, with no advance warning. What does she do? She had credit card debt, a $650 car note, tuition payments, and $1900 mortgage payment. After she brainstormed for a few days, she decided to market her grandmother's candy recipe. The first year, she made over $50,000. This year, she expects the sales to exceed the half-million dollar mark.

Kathy's husband left because "he just didn't want to be married anymore". Now, that he has a new life and new family, child support payments are a problem. He is self-employed, so he is able to adjust his income to whatever he chooses. She knew that she and her kids could not live on maybe he will pay or maybe he will not pay. I suggested she start selling real estate to supplement her income from her part-time job. She, quickly, became the top salesperson, and started to invest in real estate. Now, she has her own home-based real estate agency and receives close to $7000 each month from her real estate investments. What happened to the husband-the second wife dumped him!

And there's a man, whom is a single-parent, that shares the limelight with the ladies. Michael's wife had the same reason that Karen's husband had for leaving. She headed out, across the horizon, leaving him and two small boys, ages 5 and 7. The steel mills in Chicago were closing fast, and he was constantly out of work. Embarrassed by his situation and feeling less than a man, he came to me for advice. He is a very talented musician and songwriter. He took those skills and recorded a demo. Now, he is the CEO of his own record label. His sons have graduated from college and helping him in his business.

Sharing their wealth and knowledge was very key in sustaining their success. Sometimes, when we think that we have "made it", we forget about others. We tend to forget that someone helped us along the way. Once, the money started to flow for them, they were very careful in the handling of money. I suggest that you seek a higher authority to find out how your money can become a blessing to you and someone else. If you are not careful, the money will start to control you. Shortly, thereafter, you will become out of control and lose everything. I have seen it happen so many times, because it is so easy to get caught up in the money.

We need to start building a ladder of success, by helping someone else learn to live their dreams. We, all, have heard that it's lonely at the top. Well, take someone with you, so you won't have to be lonely. Just make sure the person you are taking, is willing to do what it takes to make it to the top.

Now, it's your turn to start building your ladder and your ladder of success. Move over and around any obstacles that stand in your way. Make a commitment to yourself and your family to start living a better life. It's out there waiting on you, and you deserve it. So, reach up and grab it!
